Therapy for neurodevelopmental conditions

Struggling to find therapy that truly understands complex needs?

We provide therapy for all individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions. We also have a superpower for supporting those with complex needs. This includes individuals with multiple diagnoses, sensory and communication differences including blind, AAC and nonverbal communication, and rare genetic conditions impacting several aspects of health.

Our therapy services include:

  • Education about your condition to support identity and build non-judgemental self-acceptance
  • Mental health support to manage depression, anxiety, stress and other symptoms that are associated with your condition
  • Skill development to increase your independence in daily life

Scope psychologists have extensive knowledge and experience supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions. Our therapy services are strengths based and guided by self-identified needs.

Therapy is available in-clinic or online.

How can we help?

Therapy for mental health challenges

(Medicare or Private Health)

Neurodevelopmental conditions are often associated with mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression and stress. Therapy at Scope will support you to improve your mental health in the context of your neurodevelopmental condition. This means that we understand your unique neurological strengths, vulnerabilities, and complex experiences.

Therapy for independent daily living

(NDIS)

Neurodevelopmental conditions can impact how you complete tasks in daily life. Sometimes, this means that extra support is needed. Different skills can also be learned to achieve independence, self-determination and confidence. Therapy for independent daily living focuses less on mental health and more on the psychological skills that help you to achieve your goals.

Therapy can provide valuable support for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions as they navigate key life stages, including:

  • Starting school
  • Leaving school
  • Starting tertiary education
  • Starting a career
  • Leaving home
  • Pregnancy/birth
  • Parenting
  • Aging with a neurodevelopmental condition
