Support for Dyslexic Adults
Scope offers a 6-session program that is designed to empower dyslexic adults to better understand their unique cognitive profile, develop coping mechanisms for literacy challenges, and identify strategies that will support their performance in the workplace, when completing tertiary education, and in daily life.
Throughout this program, you will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of dyslexia: Learn about the neurological basis of dyslexia and recognise how it influences your individual strengths and challenges.
- Develop essential coping skills: Acquire and practice specific techniques to manage literacy-related tasks, such as using assistive technology, breaking down tasks, employing visual organisers, and improving time management and organisational skills.
- Enhance communication and self-advocacy: Learn effective communication strategies, stress management techniques, and problem-solving skills to navigate workplace challenges and advocate for your needs.
- Identify and implement workplace strategies: Collaborate with your psychologist to identify specific strategies and accommodations that can support your performance in the workplace, including communication strategies and potential adjustments to your work environment.
- Improve everyday life management: Discover and implement strategies to enhance organisation, time management, reading, writing, memory, learning, navigation, and social communication in your daily life.
- Build confidence and self-esteem: Recognise and embrace your strengths, celebrate your accomplishments, and develop a positive mindset about your abilities.
By the end of this program, you will be equipped with:
