IDL Assist
IDL assist is designed to support NDIS participants transfer therapy skills into everyday life. This service is delivered by our specialist IDL assistants and utilises positive behaviour support frameworks to practise skills in practical settings, build confidence in daily tasks, optimise the surrounding environment, and support others to positively reinforce the skills learned in therapy.
IDL assist is available for home visits or online.

How much does it cost?
IDL Assist
- Therapy assistant – $86.79 per hour or part thereof
- Provisionally Registered Psychologist – $156.16 per hour or part thereof
- Registered Psychologist – $214.41 per hour or part thereof.
Where should I start?
What is the process?
1. Functional assessment - An initial functional assessment (including interviews with home, school, work, etc.)
2. Assistant selection - Selection of most suitable IDL assistant
3. Planning meeting - Planning meeting with IDL assistant and psychologist to develop a treatment plan
4. Outcome monitoring - For some participants, The senior IDL assistant will develop individualised outcome monitoring forms to gather more detail and evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan
5. Review sessions - Regular review sessions with caregivers, stakeholders and the participant, to review behavioural data, progress toward meeting goals, modification and new strategies.

Records
Bring any relevant medical and educational records, such as previous assessments and reports, and a list of your current medications.

You may want to jot down any questions or concerns you have about your symptoms or challenges before your first session.

It may be helpful to bring a notepad and pen to take note of important information, and also a comfort item to make you feel at ease.
